Privacy Policy
This notice explains which personal data https://www.binarypoetry.ch processes, why, and who receives it, as the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, Art. 19) requires. The short version: the site sets no cookies, has no accounts, forms or advertising, and the only third party that sees your visit is our host.

Hosting and analytics
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages by Cloudflare, Inc., USA. When you open a page, your browser sends Cloudflare the technical data every web request carries: your IP address, the page requested, the referring page, browser and operating system, and the time. Cloudflare needs these to deliver the page and to defend the site against abuse.
We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views with the URL, referrer, browser type, load times and the country derived from your IP address. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify you across visits. We can see these statistics for six months; Cloudflare's own retention of the underlying request logs is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Cloudflare is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Federal Council recognizes as providing adequate protection (Art. 16 FADP).
Data in your browser
The site remembers which blog posts you have read and how you prefer some images displayed. This is stored in your browser's local storage, never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can delete or block it in your browser settings; the site works without it.
Contact
If you email us, we process your address and what you write in order to answer you. Our mail runs on Proton, Switzerland. We keep correspondence as long as the matter it concerns is open, and longer only where the law requires it.
Buy Me a Coffee
When you support us or buy something through Buy Me a Coffee, we receive what you provide there, such as your name or social handle, a message, your email address, and for purchases the order details, including answers to questions such as a delivery address. We use them to thank you, answer questions and fulfil orders. Records of sales are kept for 10 years, as Swiss law requires for accounting documents (Art. 958f CO). Buy Me a Coffee (Publisherr Inc., USA) is responsible for the payment itself; see its privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask us which personal data we process about you (Art. 25 FADP), object to a processing (Art. 30 FADP), have inaccurate data corrected and have your data deleted (Art. 32 FADP), and receive the data you gave us for an order in a common electronic format (Art. 28 FADP). Write to privacy-policy@binarypoetry.ch. You may also file a report with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the site starts processing data in a new way. The current version is always at this address.
